Culcheth kicked off and soon regained possession, which put the visitors on the back foot which opened the flood gates for early doors tries from Nathan Bell and Stu Johnson, both converted by James Wilde, before Wilde crossed for a score of his own.
Latchford continued to pressure Culcheths line and were rewarded with a unconverted try only for Stu Johnson to pin his ears back and go a full length to take Eagles 1st half tally up to 24 with the visitors notching up another 6 points for the half.
A tense second half got underway with a string of penalties to against both sides which neither team could capitalise on, this eventually erupted and each team had a player given 10 mins, the game settled and Latchford started to show some dominance as the home team scrambled the defence and kept their rivals out until 10 mins were left on the clock and as Culcheth tired and the subs bench resembled a scene from Casualty The Albion dug deep and added two unconverted to their total to narrow the final deficit to 6 points.
Culcheth face another tough derby on Saturday as they play host to Rylands Sharks who have showed some good form in their last few matches.
