CULCHETH EAGLES U15s 18 v FITTON HILL BULLDOGS U15s 00

In a game with an afternoon kick off Eagles took this as an opportunity to put into practice training field moves as this would be a less pressurised fixture against new boys Fitton Hill who are still finding their feet in this league. It became obvious from the outset that Fitton Hill were going to struggle to contain a very fluid Eagles squad who used the full width of the field to their advantage sending all but one of their players over for a try - SORRY BRADDERZ!! Credit must be given to Fitton Hill for their courage and determination to play and hopefully by the end of this season they will have a full squad and will be able to compete on more equal terms. MOM - Jamie Palmer, COACHES AWARD - Johnny Eland, DEFENCE AWARD - Ben Emery.

Try Scorers for Eagles

SImon Highm(3), Ben Emery(3), Reece Carney(3), Johnny Eland(2), Jamie Palmer(2), Josh Coppin, Rob Miller, Sam Taylor. Conversions Alex Bradley, Josh Coppin, Reece Carney.

CULCHETH EAGLES U17s 26 v SPRING VIEW U17s 10

Culcheth made hard work of shaking off a resolute Spring View outfit. The game was full of good free flowing rugby from both teams, Culcheth’s defence was on top form for most of the game and with a little more patience in attack Culcheth would have scored more tries for their efforts. Try scorers for Culcheth were Adam Heggie(2), Sam Stretch, Jack Wilshire, Elliot Wales and Will Dawbarn and A conversion from Andy Rodgers. Sam Cooper collected both MOM and POW.

SHAW RHINOS U15s 60 v CULCHETH EAGLES U15s 10

Eagles got of to a flying start and opened the scoring, with a well worked try in the corner from Ben Emery, Eagles added to their tally soon after as Alex Braddley pushed over the line with what seem to be the entire Shaw squad hanging on. Although Eagles had many other opportunities to add the points they were never able to capitalise on these as poor decisions took their toll as well as the 3 extra Shaw players. It was in the last ten minutes that Shaw racked up their points as Culcheths defence had run out of steam and had nothing left to give to chase down the one man tries. Eagles can be proud of the effort today with MOM going to Rob Miller who worked relentlessly in defence.

Culcheth travelled to Haresfinch unbeaten so far this season but came away with their wings clipped with a converted try in the last minute. Culcheth were not at their best and payed for their errors and discipline. Jack Wilshire scored his usual try with twins Andy and Sam Rodgers also crossing. MOM went to the immense Sam Stretch whilst captain Adam Heggie picked up POW.

Eagles U15s turned up today in body but not in mind and definitely not in spirit. This was a disappointing result for all involved in this squad as the usual enthusiasm and never say die attitude was missing today as the squad were unable to contain a strong Widnes side.

A second trip to Blackpool saw Eagles put in a workman like performance to secure victory in the first round of the Lancashire Cup.

Sam Stretch crossed the whitewash mid way through the first half with Andrew Rogers adding the extras to put Eagles in the lead. It was not until two minutes from the final whistle that Culcheth guaranteed their win with a try in the corner from Jack Wilshire. MOM went to Tom Blohm.

Eagles played host to division leaders Saddleworth for their first round Lancashire Cup match and were faced with an up hill battle only being able to field 9 men. However, again Eagle grit and determination saw Eagles register the opening score through the dogged determination of Reece Carney, the first half closed at 4 - 14 with the visitors having to work hard for their points. Again Carney opened the second half scoring as he crawled over the line dragging three defenders with him. Eagles put in a valiant effort but eventually Saddleworths extra numbers took it’s toll and saw them score 5 comfortable tries to take them through o the next round.

WOOLSTON ROVERS U14s 10 v CULCHETH EAGLES U14s 46

James Doody’s strong running and tackling saw him awarded Man of The Match with an excellent defensive effort form Ben Smallman earned him Top Tackler and Most improved went to Martin Hall.
